I don't have any idea yet, so I can't tell you anything, but you've kind of opened my eyes to this issue...

I recently purchased a climate control panel with a heated seat button and plan to install it soon. On this occasion, I would like to take the necessary steps to gain access to the CAN bus without having to disassemble the car every time.

Now it's time for the experts: Where is the best place to connect everything so that I'm properly equipped?

Once I've tapped into the correct lines, it shouldn't be too much of a problem to make something work with the appropriate adapter.

To access the data from the buses, a CAN gateway is suitable, and you can find the appropriate CAN interface for the hardware in the top left corner.
