Hey,
I'm 26 years old and live near Frankfurt. I have a small hobby workshop with two friends, and now I'm at the point where I want to buy a suitable diagnostic interface.
I only find garbage online when I'm looking for something. To be clear, I'm willing to spend money on decent equipment.
What should it be able to do?
For now, not much. I need to be able to read data from common vehicle types. Of course, I'm also willing to purchase licenses for the software. Is there actually *one* interface that can work with software from different manufacturers, or do I need different interfaces for each?
So far, I've only worked with VCDS, which is software that should be compatible. I'm not familiar with other software options for BMW, etc.

While it might not be much initially, I want to have room for growth and further development. I'm very eager to learn, and due to an accident, I've been on sick leave for a long time, which gives me the time to do so.

Only the Ross-Tech interface, the manufacturer's own product, is compatible with VCDS.

CANhack.de is not really the right forum for the area of vehicle diagnostics, as it focuses on the internal workings of the CAN bus.
