Hello there!

I'm trying to read the data from my car (GOLF 2.0 TDI 2004). I can read everything (mileage, central locking, power windows, etc.) except for the fuel level. Does anyone know which CAN ID message that would be? Is it even possible? I would appreciate any information regarding the specifications.

Sincerely, Ado.

Den Füllstand des Kraftstoffs kann man sicher auslesen.
I don't know which department is responsible for that.

Hi Maxx,

I've found out that for the fuel level reading, ID 621, byte number 4 is used. I can connect to the infotainment system, but I still can't connect to the OBD2 (CAN - High, CAN - Low wires), even though I have no problem connecting to the infotainment. Do you know the reason why this might be happening, and perhaps how I could resolve it?

Best regards,
Ado.

Liegt vermutlich daran, dass kein CAN im OBD anliegen ist.
Probiers mit dem AGV4000, der unterstützt alle gängigen Protokolle.

I once tried to connect to the CAN bus in the OBD2 port of an Audi A3 2007, but without success.
It worked with the AGV4000, but not with CAN.

What I really need is to connect to CAN - High and CAN - Low in order to access the data. I don't need a USB or COM connection. CAN - High and CAN - Low are available, but I only get 'Empty Datas' when I connect to them. The reason for this is what's driving me crazy. I would be grateful for any suggestion or hint as to why OBD isn't sending data via CAN - High and CAN - Low.

OBD only sends data that you request. Therefore, you must first send data in order to receive any data back.
I don't know what those messages look like.

Okay. Otherwise, you would have to directly access the respective bus (Motorcan, Info CAN, etc.) icon_wink.gif.
The OBD data is filtered through the diagnostic interface icon_wink.gif.
