Hi,
habe mir soeben das CAN<>USB Interface von Mictronics gebastelt.
Leider funktioniert es aber nicht so ganz.
Und zwar benötige beim Astra H wohl eine Bitrate von 95.2kbps oder?
Is it even possible with the 16MHz crystal?
The calculator on <!-- m --><a class='postlink' href='http://www.kvaser.com'>http://www.kvaser.com</a><!-- m --> says it only works with 95.238, and here (<!-- m --><a class='postlink' href='http://www.harald-sattler.de/html/body_can-bus_interface.htm'>http://www.harald-sattler.de/html/body_ ... erface.htm</a><!-- m -->) someone writes C34E.
If I use C34E and connect the interface to the bus, I immediately get a constantly lit error LED.
The moment I connect to can tool with the interface, some indicator lights on the dashboard light up briefly.
If I set can tool to 'Listen Only,' no indicator lights blink.
In any case, it doesn't receive any data and immediately turns red.
What could be the reason for this? Perhaps it's due to the bit rate deviation of 0.4%?
Or does this indicate something else?
The same problem occurs on the 500kbps high-speed bus.
Thanks in advance and best regards,

Hi, wollte nur sagen es läuft jetzt.
I've tested some values from the KVASER device.
For the mid-speed bus (95.238 kbps) on pins 3 1 of the OBD connector, use C34E. For the high-speed bus on pins 6 4 (500 kbps), use 003A.
Now I'm missing a list of CAN IDs that Opel uses.
I'd like to read things like boost pressure, RPM, etc.
Does anyone have a list like that?
By the way,
could it be that the mid-speed bus is controlled by the info display? I haven't connected that, and that's probably why I'm only receiving 4 IDs in can tool when the radio is on.
When the radio is off, I receive nothing at all.
Originally, the new display was supposed to go there. I really don't want to reinstall that old display.
Thanks for your help..Okay, now I'm just missing a list of the CAN IDs that Opel uses.

Send 7DF 8 02 01 0C 00 00 00 00 00 (on a 500kbps bus) and you will receive the response 7E8 8 04 41 0C xx xx 00 00 00, where xx xx represents the speed.

@Wladi
I own a Meriva. Does it also work with RPM retrieval on that model? Do you have any other IDs for Opel vehicles?
Best regards,
Frank.

This works with all vehicles that have a CAN Bus OBD-2 diagnostic system. All PIDs are described in SAE J1979. Or download them here:
http://www.wgsoft.de/de/downloadarea/cat_view/42-obd-iieobd-software.html
ScanMaster-ELM DEMO v2.1. In the 'PID Configuration' section, you will find a complete list of IDs.

Hello Wladi,
Thank you for the link. But how do you know that, for example, 7DF 8 02 01 0C 00 00 00 00 00 represents the speed?
Das ist, soweit ich weiß, ja nicht dokumentiert, welche ID für was steht bei OBD?

7DF is the functional ID, and all OBD-2 compliant control units in the vehicle respond to it. The engine control unit has the ID 7E8.

Hmm, do you know of any software that works with the Lawicel protocol? I can do it manually in can tool, but it's really tedious, and even writing a program is a lot of work.

No, there isn't, and it wouldn't make sense, because these interfaces only support CAN.

Yes, but isn't OBD2 over CAN also a standard?

There's also ISO9141, ISO14230 (KWP2000), VPW, PWM, and the software is developed for interfaces that support all OBD-2 protocols.

Nun fehlt mir nur noch ne Liste der CAN IDs die Opel benutzt.
Ich würde gerne Sachen wie Ladedruck, Drehzahl usw auslesen.
Does anyone have something like that?
Hehe... if someone has something like that (which I doubt), they won't share it. Maybe some individual things, though. Check if you can find an Opel forum where someone has dealt with this and figured it out...
What wladi described about the OBD2 codes will definitely help you, I think. However, it's always a question-and-answer game.
If you go directly to the engine CAN bus, you'll find continuous responses like RPM, boost, etc.
However, you'll have to figure those out yourself, but that's definitely possible. ;-)gThe OBD2 codes, as wladi described, will definitely help you a lot, I think. However, it's always a question-and-answer game.
