CAN USB Adapter: Meilhaus & CANHacker Freezing Issues

Hi,
I'm having a problem with something.
I want to control a device for an industrial application that reports its current status, and then I want to be able to tell it to perform a specific function by sending it certain hexadecimal numbers.
Now I've specifically purchased a USB-CAN ISO adapter from Meilhaus to communicate with the device using a PC.
However, every time I try to connect, even just in listen mode to check the device's status, both versions of can tool (2.00.01 and 2.00.02) freeze, and I have to end the program because it stops responding.
Does anyone have any ideas if this might be a driver issue, or what I can do to communicate with the device?

Just try using a different tool or utilize hardware that is compatible with the KCANMonitor program (RKS+CAN).
