Hasn't someone already done that before? I also need to try something out, but for that, I need to be able to access the tachometer and the speedometer.
I would be grateful for any help.
Sure, here's the translation:

'lg' is a German abbreviation that stands for 'liebe Grüße,' which translates to 'best regards' or 'warm greetings' in English.

Someone has done something like that here before.
An AI and a gateway would be a good start.

Sure, here's the translation:

'LG' translates to 'Best regards' or 'Sincerely' in English.

Yes, I know, but I just couldn't find anything quickly. I've already looked through other forums. Do you really think a gateway is necessary?

Okay, I'm searching again...

Hmm, maybe it's enough to just send the ignition information.

Please try the following:

ID | DLC | Data | Comment
2C3 | 1 | 07 | 10: Ignition off, 01: Ignition position 1, 07: Ignition position 2, every 100ms.

to send it to the combined system at a rate of 100 kbaud.

And for the speed, you could try sending the following:

351 | 08 | 00 90 0E 00 00 00 00 00 | 19.4 km/h (approximately 12 mph) | every 100 milliseconds

Low-Byte 90, High-Byte=0E => 0xE90
Divide this value by 192, and you will have the speed.

Bye.
Andi.

Okay, I'll try. But nothing works at 100 kbaud; it's operating at 500 kbaud.

Apparently, it also has a drive control CAN bus and a combined CAN bus. However, there's absolutely nothing on pins 10 and 11, where the motor driver should be connected.
Sure, here's the translation:

'Best regards.'

P.S.: I've already managed to set the speedometer by sending different IDs, but it flickered and then went back down after a few seconds.

If I were to create a structure or outline, it would be as follows:

- Combination instrument
- Steering column control unit with multi-function buttons or a windshield wiper lever with multi-function buttons (for navigating the menu).
- Body control module.
- Gateway (OBD interface)

Sure, here's the translation:

'LG' translates to 'Best regards' or 'Sincerely' in English.

Yes, basically you're right. But the communication works fine, you can navigate through the menu by clicking. Turning off lights by sending an ID, etc. etc.
I don't have anything else right now except for the speedometer. And the control system needs to work like this too...
Hmmm.

They also need to be sent periodically and continuously.

You can also directly connect a VAG-COM device to the combination CAN bus to start a diagnostic session, and for that, you don't need the CAN gateway. You only really need the gateway on your desk if you want to connect low-speed components, such as a navigation system or a radio.

Yes, that's exactly how I saw it too.

VAG com also also worked. It could also access everything via diagnostic tools, etc. Well, that thing is gone for now. And I've managed to get everything sorted out. Thanks anyway.

P.S.: It's clear that the periodic signals need to continue being transmitted icon_wink.gif.
Sure, here's the translation:

'Best regards.'

Have you ever done anything like that before?

Yes, but so far only with Golf 4/Passat 3B(G) or Audi A4 RB4 models.

Now I have a Touran, and I have to start figuring things out all over again.

Okay, I'll stick around in this thread. I need a tip:

Okay, so here's what I have on the table and connected:
- CAN Gateway 1K0-907-530F
- Combination 1T0-920-873D (connected to GW at pin 8/1Pinbelegung CAN-Gateway:
Pin  1 - Dauerplus
Pin  2 - Dauerplus
Pin  3 - Nicht belegt
Pin  4 - Nicht belegt
Pin  5 - CAN Low - Komfort
Pin  6 - CAN Low - Antrieb
Pin  7 - Nicht belegt
Pin  8 - CAN Low - Schalttafeleinsatz
Pin  9 - CAN Low - Diagnosebuchse
Pin10 - CAN Low - Infotainment
Pin11 - Masse
Pin12 - Masse
Pin13 - Weckleitung zum Kombiinstrument
Pin14 - Einschaltplus (ZĂźndung)
Pin15 - CAN High - Komfort
Pin16 - CAN High - Antrieb
Pin17 - Nicht belegt
Pin18 - CAN High - Schalttafeleinsatz
Pin19 - CAN High - Diagnosebuchse
Pin20 - CAN High - Infotainment).
- Auxiliary heater control unit 1K0-815-020G and CAN interface (connected to the gateway at pin 10/20).
- VAG-COM (connected to the gateway at pin 9/19)

'Using a CAN-bus analyzer, I can see that the SH unit is communicating with the instrument cluster. This suggests that the gateway is working. However, I can't access any of the three devices using VAG-COM.' If I connect VAG-COM directly to the instrument cluster, then I can at least connect to the instrument cluster.

Does anyone have any idea why this is the case?

I connected the CAN gateway as follows:
Connect pin 1 and 14 to 12V, and pin 11 to ground.

Does anyone have an idea how I can access the CAN gateway, for example, using VAG-COM?

Greetings.
Axel.

You should definitely access the gateway via VCDS using the OBD connector.
If that works, we can explore further options.

Best regards,
Maxx.

OBD? Via pin 9/19? Or are you suggesting I should swap the gateway with the one in the car for testing? That would be my last resort. Could it be that the gateway absolutely requires a motor control unit? I can't really picture that.

Yes, if you have VCDS, then connect it to pin 9/19.
The gateway must function without any control units.
In my opinion, this particular control unit does not have a direct dependency on other control units.
Unless, of course, you activate them in the component list.
But you always have to address the issue directly, without relying on any other STG (Steuergerät - control unit).

I see it the same way. I have two CAN gateways at home. With both of them, I'm experiencing the same effect – namely, none. It's also unlikely that both of them are defective. Okay, I'll let you know when I've managed to do it.

It's strange... it shouldn't be like that.
The question is, what's really missing. icon_confused.gif
