Good day.
I have a question about whether this is technically feasible.
I installed an aftermarket navigation system in my VW Bus T6.1. This original navigation system retrieves its GNSS data via the infotainment CAN bus. The GPS data is provided by the telematics control unit.
Since this vehicle originally did not have a navigation system, only a telematics control unit is installed in the "low" configuration, which does not transmit GPS signals to the CAN bus.
Is there a way to integrate these GNSS signals into the CAN bus in a different manner, and for them to also communicate with the navigation system?
I would be very grateful for a response.

Hello,
If you haven't installed a GPS receiver, I would recommend choosing a different radio, for example, one from Erisin.
Of course, you could build something that feeds the signal from an external GPS receiver into the car radio. Alternatively, you could use a suitable control unit that incorporates GPS functionality.
Best regards, Rainer.
