First of all, a warm greeting to everyone.
I am Andre, and I work with Segway PT personal transporters (also known as "Segway scooters").

They have 2 CAN bus connections (so you need a galvanically isolated dual interface).

You can read log files, install updates, and adjust parameters through the bus interface.

The two connectors each connect to the "differential HighSpeed" CAN bus (500 kbps) of a CU board. As a CAN interface, Segway supports manufacturers such as Kvaser and Vector, as well as its own USB interface (FTDI) for the RMP platform. The problem likely lies in obtaining access to this Windows application and the corresponding firmware files (binary and CU upgrade files *.bin;*.rex).

If anyone has such a firmware file, please send me a private message.

The firmware is not very large because the Texas Instruments TMS320LF2406A (a 24x 16-bit fixed-point DSP controller) only has 64 kB (32kWords) of Flash memory. The DSP is protected by hardware mechanisms against being read out. Supposedly, this protection can now be bypassed. The reason for this is that this DSP is quite old, and the CU board has never been updated.

Can a specialist assist me with this?

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi,

Ah, that's the part where the inventor of the Segway had a fatal accident... icon_cool.gif
I don't support extracting the firmware from such devices for legal and personal reasons. If you don't like the existing firmware, just write a new one.

If someone wants to read or clone my own devices, I don't find that amusing, and I certainly won't offer any support for such endeavors.

Best regards, Rainer.
