Hello,
I'd like to get a CAN interface that works well with the Raspberry Pi 3 and ideally uses as few pins as possible.
Which one would you recommend to me? It should be able to process a relatively large number of messages because I want to use it for the following:
Here are the commands I would like to execute:
- Interior locking: ON/OFF (so that the car can stay in front of the door and I can mess around with it from my room).
- Heated exterior mirrors that can be activated without turning on the rear window defroster.
- Read data from parking sensors and display it graphically.
- When reversing, the exterior mirrors should automatically adjust to point downwards; when driving forward, they should return to their normal position.
- Speedometer reading at start: 240 km/h (and returning to zero).
- Switch the Climatronic from automatic mode to preheating mode (i.e., only the windshield blower is active).
- Set GRA to a specific speed.
- Radio: quieter / louder.
- Interior lighting ON/OFF.
- Read the speedometer (km/h), engine speed (RPM), and coolant temperature.
- Check remaining range/fuel level.
- Read the value since the last DPF regeneration.
- Detect when the fuel tank was last filled and automatically record how many kilometers were driven with that full tank.
