CAN data protocol

Hello,

I'm currently trying to connect a display to the engine control unit (ECU) via the CAN bus to display things like engine speed, engine temperature, etc. The engine is a Suzuki GSX-R 600 K6, and the ECU is a Magneti Marelli SRT EDL 16.
'The problem is that while there are dashboards that can be fed with data via a CAN bus, I don't have the data protocol used by that bus for the engine control unit. As a result, the display can't understand any of the data coming from the engine control unit.'

Are there ways to create this data protocol myself? If so, how? What hardware and software would I need for that?
or does anyone happen to have the appropriate data protocol?

No, well, you can research it, sign up, and then see for yourself what's what, which is what I was already thinking... I just thought maybe someone could give me a little nudge in the right direction.

First, learn how CAN works.

At least, some basic principles. And then, continue.

Okay, I'd also like to hear more about exactly how you plan to do that. How does the data get fed into your 'dashboard'?

I'd be happy to help, especially since I'm also interested in the motorcycle protocol myself, but I can't and won't give you all the answers.

Get the MM display and customize it to your liking. Everything else is too complicated, and no one here (I think!) will capture, analyze, and interpret the relevant data for you, and then build a prototype.
