Hallo.
Ich hoffe ihr seid gut ins neue Jahr gekommen.
Ich beschäftige mich seid einiger Zeit mit Mikrokontrollern und möchte ganz gerne ein paar kleine Anwendungen Bauen.
CI have successfully built AN-BUS systems using the MCP2551 and MCP2515, along with small AVR microcontrollers. The communication between two or more circuits works quite well.
Now, I want to connect it to a vehicle, specifically a VW Golf5. I would like to read the drive bus signals to, for example, build a shift light.
Is this possible with the CAN controllers/transceivers I am using?
What speed does the drive bus operate at in the Golf5? 500 kbit/s? My controllers can handle up to 1 Mbit/s.
According to the datasheet, the controller operates with CAN 2.0B. Which version is used in the Golf?
Here is the link to the datasheet: http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/21801d.pdf
Before I start experimenting with all my electronics in the cold garage, I would like to have these questions answered beforehand.
I hope you can help me.

Your suggested components are perfect. It's best to buy a Golf V instrument cluster. Then you won't have to go to the garage.

hast du denn schon mit nem CAN gearbeitet, der mehr als 1000 kbit/shat??? hört sich so an.. hi
Is mir nämlich noch nicht unter gekommen.
Drive-related CAN has a speed of 500 kbit/s.
Have fun!ßThe drive-related CAN communication uses a data rate of 500 kbit/s.Have fun.

Hallo.
Nein hab auch noch keinen gehabt....
Is there a directory somewhere that lists the different IDs, perhaps organized by vehicle type? Or has no one bothered to create such a resource yet?
Sure, here's the translation:
'MFG' is an abbreviation for 'Mit freundlichen Grüßen,' which translates to 'Sincerely' or 'Best regards' in English.

Hahhahahahaaa
Here's another one... Just kidding.
This is information that, under normal circumstances, no one would have access to. Perhaps someone took the trouble to collect and compile it. But would they simply release it to outsiders?
If you want to know something specific, let me know. But for now, just start by listening and having a goal... there's probably still a lot of room for improvement before you really make progress, right?
Sure, here's the translation:
'lg' is a German abbreviation that stands for 'liebe Grüße,' which translates to 'best regards' or 'warm greetings' in English.

Hallo.
Why the long way? The module works perfectly.
Programm in VB geschrieben gibt die Werte in eine Tabelle aus.
'List all IDs together. When a new value arrives, it replaces the existing one in the table.'
Wo ist da das Problem.
Man könnte ja ne öffentliche Datenbank machen, wo jeder die ID's eingibt, die er identifiziert hat.
II'll try to tackle that.
Best regards,
DanielBest regards,
Daniel.

Wir haben das hier schonmal besprochen.
Öffentlich stellen halte ich (und auch viele andere) für nicht sinnvoll. denn dann kommen irgendwelche, die selber nichts machen wollen und nur haben haben haben. . . .
And I won't be sharing the effort and money I've put into this with everyone...
If you have a reasonable solution, etc., I'm happy to work on it further.
What exactly do you want to do now?

Bye
OhimMFG Daniel}Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:
'Cu' is a Spanish word that means 'with'. It is often used in greetings and farewells. For example, you might say 'Hola, cu' to someone you are greeting, or 'Adios, cu' to someone you are saying goodbye to.
'Cu' can also be used as a verb, meaning 'to be with'. For example, you might say 'Estoy con mi familia' to mean 'I am with my family'.
In some cases, 'cu' can also be used as a noun, meaning 'a companion'. For example, you might say 'Ella es mi cu' to mean 'She is my companion'.
I hope this helps!Okay, here's the translation:
Achim.
