CAN adapter for water and oil temperature needed

Hello everyone,
I drive a 2005 VW Touran 2.0 TDI, and I often travel with a caravan/trailer.
To constantly monitor the temperatures in the engine, I would like to display the values for water and engine oil temperature on an additional 7-segment display.
It's not about the MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) because I only installed the basic MFA. Also, I also find the constant notifications in the menus to be quite annoying while driving.

'I'm more of an electronics expert than a car mechanic, and I'd prefer to directly tap into the two signals from the CAN bus and display them, rather than adding extra sensors.'

From what I've gathered so far, you would need to tap into the CAN bus to access the data.

Question: Could you tell me if there are already any projects like this, and where I might find them?

If you're open to using a 2-line LCD instead of a 7-segment display, I have a solution for that available.

There are two small buttons on it, and you can scroll through (I think) 30 different values.

The display is red on a black background, but white/black is also possible.
