MotorCAN: Golf V/Octavia 2 - Tap Points

Hello everyone,

Where is the best place to tap into the MotorCAN on a Golf V? I'm actually looking for a Skoda Octavia 2, but they share a lot of the same components.

For the Golf 5, the three CAN buses can be accessed via the 'diagnostic interface for the data bus.'
You can find it in the footwell on the left side, near the center console, in a Golf 5.
I couldn't find a wiring diagram for the Skoda.
It will likely look very similar or identical.

Drive-CAN: PIN 6 Low | PIN 16 High.
Comfort-CAN: PIN 5 is low | PIN 15 is high.
Infotainment-CAN: PIN 10 Low | PIN 20 High.

Do you mean the OBD2 connector?

No, not the OBD2 connector.
It only has the diagnostic CAN bus connected.
Unfortunately, not much comes across.
It is a CAN gateway.
All the buses converge there.
It's a dedicated control unit.
