Dann will ich mal den ersten Schritt in dieser Kategorie machen und mich kurz vorstellen.

Ich heiße Thomas, bin 24 Jahrejung und komme aus Trier (direkt an Grenze zu Luxemburg). Ich fahre einen Audi S3 Baujahr 2002, an dem es eigentlich immer was zu basteln gibt. Da ich persönlich mehr Wert auf kleine aber feine technische Gimmicks lege und das Auto lieber mit Originalteilen von anderen Fahrzeugen aus dem VAG Konzern, als auf fertige Zubehörteile zuzugreifen, kam ich so Ende 2007 auch zu diesen Forum. Damals war ich dran, ein Multifunktionslenkrad aus einem Audi s3 8P (neueres Modell) in meinen S3 8L zu verbauen. The steering column control unit uses CAN communication, and there were some issues here and there, but the forum was very helpful in helping me complete the project.

Da canhack.de dann im September 2009 vom Netz ging aufgrund eines Servercrashs und von fuchs und hoernertee aus Zeitgründen nicht mehr aufgebaut werden konnte, übernahm ich das Forum und die Domain, sodass es am 25.10.2009 wieder online gehen konnte.

The topic of CAN Bus has increasingly become a hobby of mine, as I was once confronted with CAN during my studies (Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Automotive Technology), and also through the retrofitting projects in my car.
