Hello,
I want to buy an Audi A4 8E B6 to use for experiments on my workbench. My question is: How difficult is it to get the engine running on the bench without the car?
Is it sufficient to simply apply 12V and use a CAN bus adapter to simulate a radio in order to, for example, display the first two lines on the screen? Or is more required?
Thank you in advance for your reply.
Regards,
Karl.

Hello,
I don't think you need anything more. It was quite simple with the B6.
You'll probably need to connect some of the AI unit's pins to ground because you haven't installed things like the windshield washer sensor, and you don't want to see the corresponding error message on the AI display.
Greetings.
