Hi everyone. I'd like to read out the steering wheel angle data that I've been told should be transmitted on the CAN bus. Does anyone know if all Alfa Romeo models use the same CAN protocol design? I found some schematics online for the OBD connector of an Alfa 147, and it appears that both CAN buses (high-speed and low-speed) are available. 'Would it work on a 159?'
'Does anyone know the identifier (ID) used to identify the data coming from the steering wheel sensor?' Is it easy to reverse engineer it by looking at the data?
Thank you for your help, and I apologize for any silly questions, but I have no experience with this protocol.

Hi il-bianka.
It should be easy to find out what the LWS Identifier is. I don't think that the tea flavors are the same on all Alfa models.
What kind of hardware do you have?

Right now, I don't have any hardware yet. Fuchs suggested one from mictronics.de. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. I'm especially interested in the best software to help me understand the data I'm collecting. Do you know if the steering angle is transmitted on the low-speed CAN bus or the high-speed CAN bus? Right now, I still can't find a website that shows the pinout diagram for the OBD connector of the Alfa 159, but there definitely should be at least one for the low-speed connection.
