Hello,
I'm currently trying to learn a bit about the CAN system in my Audi, and I hope someone can give me some basic information. There are several things that aren't clear to me.
I've heard of 3 different CAN buses: one for the engine, one for comfort features, and one for infotainment. Or are 'comfort' and 'infotainment' the same thing?
What data, such as speed and RPM, is transmitted on the motor CAN bus at a rate of 500 kbits? What data is transmitted on the comfort CAN bus at a rate of 100 kbits?
And where can I find access to the different CAN buses? This leads me to my next question: what exactly comes out of the purple connector located to the left of the steering wheel? Is anything being transmitted continuously through it, or does it need to be activated first? Is this an OBD-2 port? Because when I look at some of the connectors here and see 'CAN High' and 'Low' and 'GND,' it looks like some of them don't have any contacts in those positions.
I hope someone feels like sharing their thoughts

. If anyone wants to tell me more, they are welcome to do so.
Best regards,
