Hello forum,

On a Windows 7 computer, I installed RKS&Can including the USB drivers. I connected the cable to the OBDII port, and COM 8 is recognized. After connecting, the footer displays a voltage of approximately 11V, but the RX and TX lines remain inactive. I have tried all the specified baud rates, but I haven't achieved any results. What could be the cause of this?
How can you determine if the software is activated? I followed the instructions, but...

Hi,

KCANMonitor does not use the virtual COM port. The RKS+CAN unlocks KCANMonitor, KOBD2Check, and KDataScope. If a voltage is displayed, the connection to the interface is working correctly; otherwise, the software wouldn't be able to request the voltage. icon_wink.gif

Most likely, besides the diagnostic CAN bus, there are no other buses connected to the OBD-2 connector in your Volvo. That's the case with most cars.
