Hello.

I have a BMW E90 and I want to read the commands from the Multifunction Steering Wheel (MFL) via the CAN bus using a PC, in order to control the CarPC software (Centrafuse).

Is that feasible, and can someone tell me exactly what I need for it?

As far as I can tell, it's not possible to do this through the OBD interface, and I would need to connect directly to the CAN bus.

Hello,

Yes, it's not possible to access the data through the diagnostic port on that vehicle; you need to retrieve the data 'internally.' You can either develop your own solution or use a ready-made solution, such as CANUSB.

Hi!

Could you perhaps tell me how I can calculate the speed and from which ID the information on the PT-CAN originates? icon_sad.gif

Thank you very much icon_smile.gif.
