Arduino Audi A4 S4 RS4 B5 FIS CAN Project

Hello!


I recently removed my faulty RNS-D unit from my RS4 B5 manufactured in 2001.

Now, in my car's information display (FIS), the top lines that usually show the CD or RDS information are simply blacked out.

Now I thought it would be nice to simply display a piece of text or read out a value and then display it.

I want to do that using an Arduino UNO and a CAN bus shield.

I've also seen similar projects that work, but they didn't want to share the code with me. (It was a Seat project.)

Now I need to know exactly what data I need to write to the bus and with which parameters.

Can someone help me?

Now, if you'll allow me to ask a rather basic question, what hardware are you using to achieve this?

To test and monitor, a USB CAN interface with PC software is definitely the way to go, right?
Is there something similar in Switzerland?

What hardware will be needed for final installation in the car later?
--> My Arduino with board?
