Hello.
I'd be interested to know who among you has had experience with this. And if so, which controllers are we talking about? (ARM, AVR, etc.)

Of course, it's also interesting to know what other options there are.
Hardware.
Best regards, Patrick.

Here's a quick overview:

CAN Bus for GM Chevrolet.
ComfortCan GM Chevrolet.
Everything is programmed in assembler on PIC microcontrollers.
Analysis of CAN data performed in-house. Interface development and prototype construction done in-house.

Not quite as much experience yet.

General. Hardware:
Kvaser Hardware.
samDia: HS+ Interface

General. Software:
I took a look at can tool.
XTM
Samdia (Samtec)

Currently, I am working with LPC2119 (NXP) ARM7-based microcontrollers.
but I'm still at the beginning icon_wink.gif.

I'm currently working with AVR assembler (AVR Studio 4) and I'm in the process of learning AVR-GCC.

Hardware:
Atmega 8-bit + MCP2515 + ATA6660

Greetings.

Hello,
I'm reviving this old thread.

I would like to try using the AT90CAN32 to eavesdrop on the infotainment CAN bus of my Passat 3C (initially).

My IDE provides a CAN library.
First, you need to call an initialization function with the following parameters.

CANInitialize(SJW, BRP, PHSEG1, PHSEG2, PROPSEG, CAN_CONFIG_FLAGS : byte);

How should they look in order to be compatible with the infotainment CAN bus (100 kbit/s)?
'how can we communicate?'

I'm not familiar with your CAN library, but AT90CAN128 is AT90CAN128 ->

http://www.atmel.com/Images/doc7679.pdf (AT90CAN32/64/128 Complete)

Starting on page 278, you'll find the relevant tables. If you want to know more details, you can also read the explanations that come before them.

Best regards,
Ingo

@Diesel drivers:
You're welcome. The tables indicate which CPU registers are responsible for that.

Or, how to initialize the baud rate of the CAN controller – that's not so simple.
I have never done anything with CAN bus programming before
* Berechnung des Bittimings
* 1. Berechnung Tosc = 1/clk
* 2. Festlegen des Bustaktes zB. 100kHz
* 3. Festlegen des Tq durch Baudrate-Prescaler
* Tq = Tosc * BRP
* Tq = 1/(16MHz) * 10 = 62,5nsec * 10 = 625nsec
* 4. Berechnen der Tq pro Bit n * Tq = 1/Busfrequenz
* n = (1/busfrequenz) / Tq
* n = (1/100kHz) / 625nsec
* n = 16
* 5. Aufteilen der n-Tq auf die Zeit-Segmente
* Sync Seg 1Tq per Definition
* Prop Seg 2Tq allg. guter Wert
* Phase1 7Tq allg. guter Wert
* Phase2 6Tq 16 -(1+2+7) = 6
* SJW 1Tq da hier ein Quarz als clk verwendet wird ist entgegen der Daumenregel 1 ein guter Wert
.

I'm starting to consider skipping the Lib and walking instead.
The library would definitely help me, as a newcomer, with quite a few things.

I have now found a reference to the parameters in the Lib Init function.

I'll try using the library for now.

Best regards, Rudi.

Hello,

Does anyone have a sample code to display, for example, the RPM? I would like to implement this using the AT90CAN128, as I still have the Olimex developer board for it, or with an Arduino and a CAN shield.

Thank you very much.
