Okay, so you've found the CAN drive, what's the problem now?
In newer cars, there is typically a gateway control unit where all different types of buses (e.g., CAN for powertrain, comfort features, etc.) converge, and from there, the CAN diagnostic data is routed to the OBD2 connector.
If your car is relatively old and the diagnostic process uses a K-Line or similar system, you will only be able to access the respective CAN buses directly. It doesn't really matter where you tap into them, but with the gateway, they're all in one place.
Exception: Some Ford models simply connect everything to the CAN pins on the OBD2 connector. You don't have one, though.
