Hello,

Does anyone know if the CAN ID for speed on the drive CAN is the same for the B6 and B7 models? If not, what are they called for the B6 and the B7 respectively?

Greetings.

I'm not sure if they are the same, but I would like to examine bytes 1 and 2 of CAN ID 0x308 (starting byte: 0).

Best regards, Rainer.

It should be the same since the B7 is mostly a facelift of the B6 (with exterior and cosmetic upgrades).

From my B7 (8EC) 2007 model, I've found these frames to be fast.

Cid #280 (8 bytes) engine bus.
B0 - pedal states
B1 - RPM lsb
B2 - RPM most significant bit.
B3 - km/h (speed)
B4 - pedal state in percentage.
B5 -
B6 - torque?
B7 -

Cid #320 (8 bytes) engine bus.
B3 - km/h

The calculation for RPM is:
Code:
(B1+(B2 << 8 ))/4

"Speed and RPM can be found in other CID modules as well, but these are the most important ones because they are sent directly from the ECU."

A short question about this:
How are you able to recognize WHAT IDs a specific Can-Node is sending...? icon_surprised.gif icon_question.gif

By removing a control unit from the CAN bus and checking which messages disappear. icon_idea.gif

On the internet, you can find many documents where you will find this information. For example, 0x*A0 originates from the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), 0x*20 comes from the instrument cluster, and so on.
Okay, I'm ready. Please provide the German text you want me to translate.
