Audi S4 B5 Pre-facelift 9/98, Brake pressure / brake pedal

Hello,
I have the following problem/concern and would appreciate your help:
'For the vehicle mentioned above, I need information on brake pressure (or alternatively, brake pedal position) and the selected gear to display this data using a VBOX (Racelogic video data logger). Does anyone know if this information can be accessed via CAN bus, or is there a corresponding DBC file available for this vehicle? What further information do you require from me to answer this question?'

I suspect that the brake pressure data is not available on any of the car's CAN buses. However, if it *is* present, you can quickly identify it using the "Message Changes" view in KCANMonitor by observing what happens when you press the brake pedal.
The brake pedal switch should be located on the CAN drive unit.

Gear: Probably not, but possibly with an automatic transmission. Otherwise, the gear can be easily determined based on the relationship between speed and engine RPM.

Thank you for your reply! What exactly is a DBC file, and can an automotive dealer provide me with one, for example? If not, how can I create this file, which is necessary for integration into the VBOX?

I don't want to offend you, but these are basic principles. Do you need help with your VBOX? Ask the seller of your VBOX.

Du kannst Racelogic ja uns als Distributor ihrer Produkte vorschlagen, dann kann man die natürlich auch supporten.
