OBD2 Check Failed: Troubleshooting & Solutions

Hello,

I received my OBD2 diagnostic kit yesterday.
Today I downloaded the software, installed it, and connected the kit to the Touran manufactured in 2007 (download links as per the instructions).

I always get the same message when I try to scan.

"KOBD2Check V1.80 Scan, 20181002-192611"

Reading vehicle information...

Reading error codes...

"Operation failed."

In summary, there is no communication regarding the vehicle.
To the best of my knowledge, all Tourans have a CAN bus interface.

RKS and CAN are also ready, and the adapter is blinking during the scanning attempt.

Use Windows 8.1.

Did I miss something, or did I order the wrong cable for my Touran?

The fact that a car has a CAN bus doesn't necessarily mean it's also used for diagnostics.

I'm experiencing the exact same problem that a.stieler described above, but with a Mitsubishi iMiEV manufactured in 2011.
