Hi,

Can someone tell me what baud rate the interface is operating at?

Or, to put it another way: Which CAN bus is connected to the service interface (e.g., in a VW Golf V, T5, etc.)? Is it the infotainment system, the powertrain, or the engine control unit?

The Tatzelwurm.

So, it's likely that both Volkswagen and Audi use a CAN bus with a speed of 100 kbit/s for the interior systems and 500 kbit/s for the engine control unit (ECU).

I understand that already. The buses converge at the gateway. But which one is connected to the diagnostic interface?

The diagnostic interface uses a CAN bus with a speed of 500 kbit/s. The interior/comfort CAN bus is located at the radio or climate control unit, or directly at the instrument cluster. The engine CAN bus is also connected to the instrument cluster.
