Good day!

I have a question about the CAN message IDs and the best way to map them to process values. While there are various 'reports' in this forum describing how some IDs were assigned through trial and error,

I have a Ford Focus (diesel, manufactured in 2005) and I used my PEAK CAN interface and a modified OBD2 connector to 'sniff' data from my car (baud rate 500K). The result was a flood of data from various message IDs (see image).

Is there an existing database where one can find the mapping information?

Hi,

Try searching for the VW decoding or mapping information that's already been discussed a bit in the forum.
Ford uses many components from Volkswagen, and it's possible that their CAN bus systems are compatible.

(PS 500k is Motorcan)

Hello everyone,

Ich beginne auch gerade einen Focus TDCI zu scannen.
Maybe someone would be interested in exchanging ideas?

Hi,

I'm still working on it (I also have a Focus TDCi). Unfortunately, I had to put the project on hold due to time constraints.

Best regards, Gnubbel.

Hello CANpeople, this is a nice and interesting board.

results of my reverseenginerring(focus 2006) show that 0x4B0 delivers the wheelspeeds (2bytes per wheel).
Has anyone the adress for the steerering angle?

Have a nice day.

Hi,

Does anyone know the ID for the coolant temperature?
What does Ford call the coolant temperature, and what is the abbreviation used in English?

Regards,
Jackson.
