MP3 player with display in the instrument cluster

I built an MP3 player that displays information on the car's instrument cluster (FIS). However, occasionally, the display (the top two lines) flickers out for a brief moment. I'm still working on fixing this issue. If you're interested, you can check it out here: [link].

You can visit the website and view the text. It is even possible to scroll through the text character by character, which allows for different widths of spacing.

Yes, everything is working great overall, except for a minor issue: the top two lines of the FIS (Flight Information System) occasionally go dark for a brief moment. If anyone has any suggestions, it would be really helpful. Could this be related to ID 661, which has been mentioned before? I need to investigate further and start logging everything.

Habe mich lang nicht mehr mit dem Thema beschäftigt, werde aber in 4-6 Wochen versuchen weiter daran zu arbeiten.
Dein Problem könnte sein, das ein Signal kommt, was die Zeile überschreibt, oder aber das 'aktiv' Signal fehlt ... das heißt der Sendeabstand muss verringert werden (Ist allerdings nur ne Vermutung).
VoIn principle, your project is interesting... Is there a way to connect it to a PC? I removed the radio from my car and use a 'non-audio' device, or rather, my PC, to play music.

I'm more interested in an interface between the PC and the FIS (presumably a head unit or display), so that I can, for example, read data from the media player on the PC and then display the track title on the FIS, or if the radio is playing on the PC, display the station name. This likely depends on the protocol used, i.e., how the PC communicates with your interface...

As an 'interface' between a PC and a FIS (Flexible Instrument System), I would definitely use a microcontroller. On the PC side, it would have an RS232 or USB interface, and on the FIS side, it would incorporate integrated CAN controllers. The microcontroller I'm using already has this functionality (specifically, only the RS232 interface on the PC side). A USB interface could be added with an RS232-to-USB converter. Therefore, only the software in the microcontroller and on the PC would need to be adjusted. It might also be possible to control the PC via the radio, although this would likely have certain limitations.

Okay, my problem is that I'm not using an Audi radio, so I don't have any device connected to the CAN bus in the first place. That means I need a 'live' signal first, and secondly, I have an external radio that's only connected to my computer.

I think that not having any components connected to the CAN bus makes things simpler. I've read something about the active signal in this forum before, so it shouldn't be a problem.
