Audi A5 - CAN ID Speed / rpm

Hello everyone,

First of all, great job to everyone who has already contributed here. This is all new to me, and I'm just starting to learn about it. My project is to build a control unit that reads the engine speed from the bus. If I've understood this correctly, the engine speed is not output on all buses. I would prefer to install the control unit in the trunk, which means I won't be able to access the OBD2 connector. In the trunk, I have the Comfort Bus and the Instrument Cluster Bus, which also connects to the parking brake (J540). Alternatively, I can connect to the CAN termination connector located at the front.

Perhaps you could tell me whether the CAN ID is only present on the instrument cluster bus or also on the comfort bus. And maybe you could also provide me with the corresponding IDs. I would like to control my AGA (presumably referring to an engine control unit) based on the CAN bus signals.

The speed signal is also available on the Comfort CAN bus with ID 0x357.
