Hello guys,

wo kauft ihr eure Hardware ein?
Welche Typen benutzt ihr?
Gibts da einen günstigen Anbieter?
MCP2515, preferably in a DIP package.
MCP2551 (or equivalent), also preferably in a DIP package if possible.
Sure. Please provide the text you would like me to translate from German to English. I will only provide the translation, without any explanations.MSGM

I buy almost everything from Reichelt, but I'm not sure if they deliver to the most remote areas icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif.

Stimmt, die haben gute Preise.

...but whether they deliver to the most remote areas icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif :D

I must have overlooked that just now icon_mrgreen.gif.

The delivery address is not a problem because I work with some colleagues who live in Germany. icon_smile.gif

'As an alternative to the MCP2551, I would use the PCA82C250, which is available from Reichelt and comes in a DIP package.'

Ja, von dem Typen habe ich 2 Stück zu Hause.
I've been seriously considering delving into the AT90CAN128 microcontroller.
I already have an STK500, and I'll soon be getting the ATDVK90CAN1 adapter.
Which processor are you using?

Best regards,

For small projects, use the MCP2515 with an ATmega microcontroller (the ATtiny2313 doesn't work well with it, especially when using software SPI).

Currently, I'm working on drivers for the AT90CAN. While I did test the official API, it's too slow for my needs.

I did test the official API once, but it's too slow for me...

Really? Is it that slow?
How are you doing with the drivers?

keine zeit, aber meine 'pre pre alpha 0.0.0.0.1' icon_biggrin.gif ist zumindest doppelt so schnll.

'Slow' is relative; it depends on what you're trying to do. For things like basic heating or parking sensors, the Atmel API is more than fast enough.
