Retrofitting Xenon headlights to a Sprinter W906

I have a Sprinter W906 with standard headlights.

Yes, the original H4 headlights were installed, but due to the Mercedes-Benz CAN bus system, the original xenon headlights are not working.

I think that's likely a cold/warm diagnosis.
I can imagine that it might be possible to reconfigure it.

I don't think it has anything directly to do with the CAN bus.
Xenon headlights only consume 25-30 watts, while the older ones consumed much more, so I suspect that this difference is confusing the electronics.
You could try connecting a load resistor in parallel to make the headlights draw the same amount of power again.

I thought so too.
Since it's a recreational vehicle, it's equipped with a configurable special module (PSM).
Perhaps it could be programmable. I have no idea about that myself, and neither does anyone at MB.

To start with, I'm not very familiar with Mercedes-Benz. But we've already done this kind of conversion on vehicles from the VAG group.

You have to consider a lot of factors; there are many things at play.
- When turning, the headlight dims (yours might not have done this before if you didn't have that feature).
- Does it have proper cornering lights? (If so, there's an extra control unit for CAN communication.)
- Can your vehicle's onboard computer be reprogrammed (if your Mercedes-Benz has one)?
- alwr must also have (could also cause misinformation).
etc.

As I said, it's a bit of speculation and a bit of fact.

I wanted to follow up on my topic again.
