Which interface for sniffing the CAN bus?

Hello everyone,

I found this forum with interest.
I have a few questions to start with. I have an OBD2 CAN interface that I use with VAGCOM. Am I correct in assuming that this has nothing to do with sniffing the CAN bus?
I'm specifically interested in the infotainment bus.
Are there any resources where I can see how data packets are structured?
I am looking for detailed information about the infotainment system in the Seat Altea and the RNS-E.
