Hello everyone,
'Meanwhile, I have completed my tests regarding the aforementioned topic.' Combination successful:
I can access the AGV4000B, which is in 'Lawicel' mode, via the terminal.
I can eavesdrop on and transmit data on the bus at a rate of 500 kbit/s.
This would demonstrate the basic suitability of the hardware and the appropriate interface parameters (COM4, 57,600 bits per second, 8N1).
So, the software has a problem!
It's likely the well-known 'O' problem – but unlike older versions of the adapter with RS232, I can't fake it here: if I type 'O' via the terminal, the green 'bus open' LED turns on. However, if I switch to can tool, the LED immediately turns off when I connect.
'For your information:'
I have the AGV4000B, which uses a 32-bit M3 Cortex (not an AVR!), similar to the Scandevil.
Does anyone have experience with this combination?
I am grateful for any advice!

can tool 2.00.02 and AGV4000B are being used together, but in a connection method that seems questionable to me.
. CAN_H-CAN_L-CAN_GND-GND_S (RCD210) nach

. v v - v
. CAN_H-CAN_L-CAN_GND-GND_S (AGV4000B)
Test environment 1:
. CAN_H-CAN_L-CAN_GND-GND_S (RCD210) nach
. | _ _|
. | | R120 |
. v v v -
. CAN_H-CAN_L-CAN_GND-GND_S (AGV4000B)
- Info/comfort CAN bus of the Quadlock connector (vehicle wiring harness, radio/navigation).
- AGV4000B Expert OBD2 Diagnostic Interface, Version 16.14
- One-to-one wiring: CAN_H, CAN_L, CAN_GND, GND_S.
Result = Tx and Rx FAIL.
Test environment 2:
- Direct connection of the Quadlock connector's info/comfort CAN bus to the RCD210 and RCD310.
- AGV4000B Expert OBD2 Diagnostic Interface, Version 16.14
- 1. Wiring (unintentionally)
Result = Tx and Rx OK, the finding is 'termination' or 'level error'.
- 2. Wiring.
Result = Tx and Rx OK, the conclusion is that the technical schematic is flawed.
If the circuit diagram deviates from the faulty one, the results will be different.
like, for example, 120Ohms between CAN_H and CAN_L (Tx and Rx FAIL) or
60Ohms between CAN_H and GND, or CAN_L and GND (Tx and Rx are OK, but the steering control unit is reporting an error message from the CAN bus).
the consequence.
Are such issues known, or would there be another approach without immediately purchasing the CANUSB Interface Adapter?
Test vehicle VW Golf 5-TFSI with component update from the Golf 6 and test assemblies are fully functional.
Thank you in advance.
