Good evening, everyone!
Background:
Opel Astra H Caravan, manufactured between 2005 and 2006, comes standard with BID (presumably referring to a specific feature or system) and a CD30MP3 radio.
BID and CD30MP3 were removed and disconnected from the vehicle a year ago at Opel.
About a week ago, I bought a new car radio (the old one didn't have a lane departure warning system): the Pioneer AVH-2300DVD.
First, I bought a cheaper CAN adapter for LFB etc. (around 90 euros) and connected it...and nothing happened. Then, I bought a Dietz 66030 with cable set, and still...nothing (CAN not connected, or the car is not recognized), according to the instructions, even though the car should be supported.
I just drove the Opel a little while ago, and I was wondering if there might be something wrong with the CAN bus. The mechanic said there was a CAN error, but that it 'doesn't seem to be present anymore.' The fault memory has been cleared.
Even my trusted mechanic couldn't find any fault.
Of course, the adapter receives power.
However, nothing is happening.
The adapters were naturally connected using pre-made Quad-Lock connectors; I didn't connect or modify anything else.
While the simple radio was running, the CAN bus on the Quadlock connector was open, meaning it wasn't terminated with resistors. Could this have caused any errors?
This is the third adapter now... something must be wrong with the bus.
Do you know what this might be? If you need more information, please let me know. I would appreciate any help you can offer!

PS... I just checked the voltage again, with the ignition on. I'm getting approximately 20 mV on the CAN line at the Quadlock connector, and 40 mV at the diagnostic connector (pins 3 and 11). Shouldn't that be higher? Does the CAN bus have a fuse in the fuse box?

While I'm not familiar with Opel vehicles, I suspect that the radios are no longer coded, which is why there are no CAN signals reaching the Quadlock connector.
