KIA Rio 2012 Spirit: Tech Package for Sale

Hello everyone,

Here are my preliminary findings regarding the CAN bus system in the new KIA RIO. For reference, the car has full equipment except for the sunroof and navigation system.

Connection point
It can be determined with http://www.kia-hotline.com. There are 2 CAN buses: B-CAN and C-CAN.

Connected to the C-CAN (Cable Blue/Red):

MDPS (EPS) / Elektronische Servolenkung
SRS Airbag
A/C / Klima
Inverter, PCM, ECM
OBD
KIA-CONN im Motorraum
Cluster/Kombi-Instrument

The B-CAN (brown/white cable) is connected to...

BCM / BodyControlModule

B-CAN likely stands for Body-CAN, and C-CAN refers to the drive system.

Unfortunately, the central locking/turn signal commands are not being received on the C-CAN. I need to take a look at the B-CAN (M35-B connector at the SmartKey control unit in the driver's footwell).

If anyone else has information, please share it .

The C-CAN uses 11-bit IDs and operates at a data rate of 500 kbit/s.
The B-CAN will likely also use 11-bit IDs and a lower bit rate (I estimate 125 kbit/sec.

Perhaps someone here has more information than Aunt Google .
