Happy New Year to everyone!

First of all, a great forum!
I've already read quite a bit.

I'm facing the challenge of trying to power a set of Mercedes full-LED headlights from a brand-new E-Class, but without the actual car. Unfortunately, these things don't work without the bus.
Ideally, it should have all the functions, including daytime running lights, low beam, and everything else the headlight is capable of.
I assume that the relevant bus needs to be read out and then simulated using a laptop.

Okay, here's the translation:

Now, about me: I'm a complete beginner! While I have some basic knowledge about CAN buses, I have no experience with hardware, software, logging, tracing, etc.
I am looking for someone in the Stuttgart area who would be willing to help me with a task. Of course, it's not free. icon_wink.gif

Warm greetings from the sunny south, where spring has arrived.

LED headlights or ILS?

It is an ILS LED headlight.

While it would be great to implement the complete range of features for the ILS, it is not strictly necessary. Controlling the daytime running lights individually, along with the normal low beam function and turn signals, would be sufficient.

I like to delve a little deeper to make the project more interesting icon_wink.gif.

I am a freelance engineer, and I specialize in creating exhibits for trade fairs.
In this case, a customer commissioned me to develop a complete vehicle from a pipe structure to which various vehicle components can be attached.

The pictures are from the last appearance at the IAA 2013.

Hella provided us with the lights from the current E-Class, but unfortunately, they did not offer any support for their operation.

What discourages you?

Okay, first you need to figure out how the headlights are controlled, and for that, you need (or I need) a corresponding trace. You can only get those from an E-Class model with ILS (Intelligent Light System) ... I'm still looking for one.

Hello postman,

Thank you for your efforts, but a forum member contacted me via private message.
He has already worked on other Mercedes models, and now light is coming from the headlights. icon_wink.gif
We are still working on the individual functions of the ILS, but he is confident.

I will keep you updated when he cracks the code.

Greetings.

Hi,

That's nice that it's glowing icon_smile_thumb_up.gif.

Was that complicated? I'm experiencing a similar issue (the headlight needs to light up, but it's not a car).

I can do it. Please send me your Skype name via private message. icon_smile.gif I have already created a control system for a Mercedes-Benz W 205.
Year: 2016

Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

"MFG Eddy" translates to "Best regards, Eddy" or "Sincerely, Eddy". It is a common German abbreviation for "Mit freundlichen Grüßen", which means "With kind regards".
