First, thank you for this interesting website!

But I have a question: I bought a Fiat Uconnect Navi/radio 250 VP2 5-inch (2014) from a gentleman who was selling it from his camper van, and I have the correct code card.

I want to install a radio/navigation system in my old Ducato, which doesn't have a CAN bus.

Is it possible with a CAN bus simulator/emulator, and if so, do you know which one?
What is the best way for me to buy it?

The CAN bus/ECU unlocks the device, but now I'm getting a "code error."

Thank you in advance, best regards.
Winniefred from the Netherlands.

Hallo,

Dear Rainer,
Thank you very much for your quick and relevant response. icon_smile_thumb_up.gif

I suspect the device only needs speed and ignition.
I have the GPS modules here, and the radio is playing on my workbench.
ok, and the TomTom as well.

I had turned it on and off several times, and suddenly I got a code error. It was no longer activated, probably because the EEPROM was empty.

So, I assumed that a CAN bus emulator/simulator should be sufficient to unlock it.

In the picture, the connector.
I'm not sure yet whether I need the "Can High" and "Can Low" (presumably referring to some technical specifications or components) or if they refer to something else, possibly related to "history."
Thank you in advance for your further responses!
Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

Great! icon_smile_thumb_up.gif

I learned a lot from it. Unfortunately, I no longer have contact with the seller because we live about 225 km apart. But I want to see what I can do with the information you provided.

Actually, it's also a challenge to upgrade the device in my [context/situation].
Fiat Ducato.

Thank you again! If I need anything, I will reach out.
Best regards,
Winniefred.

I have already analyzed 2 or 3 Fiat vehicles with regard to their CAN bus systems.
In my records, for the tax devices I examined,
The motor and ABS ECU are always connected to the CAN bus twice.
The messages were routed through here, and I don't know why FIAT is doing it that way.
Furthermore, the vehicles had 29-bit identifiers.
I suspect the CAN bus is also being routed through the radio.
where each time, an additional control unit is connected to the terminals.
CAN C and CAN HIS are connected.
Perhaps you can obtain the chassis numbers of the donor vehicles and then ask a friendly FIAT dealer for the wiring diagrams.
Without a CAN log, I think it will be extremely difficult to get this working.
Good luck.
