Odometer Coding: How to Reset Mileage

How is the value of the trip counter typically encoded?
He has a comma value, so I searched for the current number multiplied by 10, but couldn't find it.
Are there other factors or calculation formulas for this?

Why not? Or rather, how is the instrument cluster (combination meter) supposed to determine the mileage, and that with an accuracy of up to a hundred meters?
Since I know the total kilometer reading and that it transfers directly without any power of ten adjustment, there must be another one.

Is there a chance that factors from other vehicles can be transferred? For example, an outside temperature sensor. It measures temperatures both above and below zero, so it likely has an offset. It probably ranges from -50 to +90 degrees (from Siberia to the desert). Do they all work the same way under similar conditions? What I mean is, if you knew where and how such a sensor is located in a VW, could you not transfer that information, at least as a good starting value, to a Ford?

By receiving a message every 100 meters indicating that 100 meters have been driven, the instrument cluster displays this information.
"On my Vectra C, the trip odometer resets whenever power is cut to the instrument cluster. Also, the total mileage is being recorded separately. Ah, interesting! I'm familiar with that issue regarding the exchange tachometer. Finding a signal of just 100 meters will be difficult...

Yes, incredibly difficult... Drive 100 meters and see which byte has been incremented by one. It can also be in 10-meter increments.

In the "Message Changes" view of KCANMonitor, the relevant bytes that might be changed are even highlighted with color.
