Feature KCANMonitor or RKS+CAN

I would like to create software to record and store network traffic between two nodes. Normally.
I would use the appropriate hardware and software from Vector for this, but I might also try out the hardware and software from RKS+CAN at some point (since it is significantly cheaper).

I still have a few questions that aren't entirely clear to me.
- Does the hardware support CAN FD? If so, which version (ISO or non-ISO)?
- Can databases (e.g., Fibex, Autosar3, or Autosar4) be integrated with the software?
- If database support is available, can data layers be integrated?
- When would a Wi-Fi version be available?

no, CAN transceivers, microcontrollers, and firmware do not support CAN-FD, nor do any of the supported databases.
Do you realize what price range that puts it in? CAN-FD support would be feasible, and I'm creating a survey to gather feedback on it.
Regarding Wi-Fi: Experience with other diagnostic devices has shown that Wi-Fi is often overrated and rarely used in practice, while it adds significant complexity to the product.

Wi-Fi would definitely be a "nice-to-have" feature.

Integrating a database is crucial. It's important to have a clear understanding of all the signals involved. This also has the advantage that, when you want to "sniff" the cluster to isolate signals, you can already "display" known signals.

Regarding CAN FD: As of today, the first vehicles are being equipped with CAN FD networks (e.g., the BMW 7 Series). It's still quite rare at the moment, but I think it will be seen more often in the future.

The challenge for me is that I either have to use a high-priced product that offers all the required features (e.g., Vector), It's quite expensive.

I could also opt for a mid-range product that partially meets the requirements (e.g.,). PEAK-System).

The question now was to what extent the RKS could utilize CAN. The focus of RKS+CAN is clearly on "CAN hacking," but how far is it from bus analysis?
