KCanMonitor - getting started guide

Hello everyone,
I tried sniffing the CAN bus using the KCANMonitor and the RKS+CAN cable.

I have tried this on a VW Crafter (year 2009), an Audi A2 (year 2001), and a Mercedes E350 (year 2012).
The adapter was configured to use an available COM port (COM2).
The software is connected, but I'm not seeing any data for any of the vehicles.
Does anything need to be configured in the software yet?

I read that...
"At Audi or Volkswagen, on the other hand, nothing happens if you don't send the right messages."

What message needs to be sent in order to receive notifications?

Hello,

For the vehicles mentioned, messages must be sent via the OBD or OBD-2 diagnostic port, following the respective protocol, in order for something to happen.

If you simply want to listen, I recommend tapping into the respective CAN bus at the gateway control unit.
