Hi,
I have this sensor here and I was wondering if anyone knows how it communicates over CAN.
Currently, I only see one message he always sends, and it's "0x3d2".
Does anyone have information about this sensor?
Bosch Collision Avoidance System CAS-M 3 EVO F 02U v02 647-01.
Thank you.
Best regards, kami.

Hi,
As described on the Bosch website, this is a request/response process. The display normally sends a trigger to the radar module via CAN (which is a private CAN), and the radar module then transmits its data. The firmware in ASAM format is also available on the website.
You should be able to view the MCD-2 version (the *.A2L file).

Hi,
Thank you in advance for your response. I can find a firmware file on the website, but it only has the ".PST" extension.
Can you tell me how I can access the CAN message to be sent?
Thank you very much.
Best regards, kami.

Why don't you upload the .pst file to the viewer linked by him?

Hi,
Thank you, you are right. This can be useful for obtaining some files. However, unfortunately, I am unable to read the CAN message from it. Can anyone perhaps help me with that?
The files are already quite extensive.
Thank you.
Best regards, kami.

I'm a bit confused . When you open the DeviceDescription, in the "CAN" section, you see the channels, the IDs, and even (which surprised me somewhat) the CRC calculation method.
In the *.a2l file, among other things, the signals are described. It also states that the communication via CAN is an XCP protocol.
It has pretty much everything you need.

Hi,
"Yes, I've looked at that already. However, I haven't been able to find anything when searching for information based on CAN IDs. Also, it's not clear to me how the communication takes place – specifically, what data is sent by the device and what response the radar sensor provides."
I'm not really an expert in that area.
Perhaps you can shed some more light on that.
Thank you.
Best regards, kami.
