Hello!
First of all, thank you for the forum; it seems I'm exactly in the right place

.
My problem:
I drive a Polo 6n2, manufactured in 2000. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a 'real' CAN-Bus system, as far as I can tell. Now, here's the 'problem' ^^.
I managed to get an old MFD A at a good price, and so far it's working wonderfully (including the navigation!). Then, a friend gave me a PCCM adapter to connect a DVD player to my MFD. This is working quite well too, except that the navigation controls using the buttons don't really work – they don't function at all.
'This adapter has 2 additional connectors for CAN high and CAN low, but unfortunately, I have absolutely no idea where I need to connect them. My (unfortunately unsuccessful) attempts so far:'
Variant a)
Simply connected the two wires to the Siemens connector on the back of the MFD - no function.
Variant b) (and probably not the smartest

.
'I got it from can high and low on the instrument cluster, then to the radio, and then to the adapter. The only thing it did was cause the display in the instrument cluster to show a disco effect, and the airbag light wouldn't turn off. However, after reading the error codes, everything was back to normal.'
According to the adapter manufacturer, the adapter was not specifically designed for the DVD player (Dietz), but it should still work, as a similar model is listed as compatible.
What else can I try?
Sure, no problem!
Tristan.
