Hello. I'm new here and just stumbled upon this forum.
I have a few questions and I'm sure someone can help me. I work full-time in the automotive industry and want to further my knowledge of CAN communication. I'm looking for a device that allows me to read CAN signals (not an oscilloscope) and display them on my laptop. For example, when I turn on the lights, I want to see what information is being transmitted, save it, and then send it again myself using the laptop.
Kann mir da jemand helfen?
Was brauch ich alles?
Thank you.

Hi!
Du brauchst z.B. ein CAN Interface mit Lawicel Protokoll und hier ausm Forum den CAN Hacker.
Es gibt auch noch anderes Equipment was aber u.U. teurer ist.
Best regards,
Maxx.

Yes, exactly. However, it's difficult to find anything for under €100, unless you build something yourself. But even for that, there are several guides available.

Hello,
I need your help, please!! I have a Golf 5 from 2008 with MFA+ and MFL, originally equipped with an RNS 300. I now installed an Audi RNS-E. The RNS-E is currently coded for an A3. The RNS-E powers on and off with the ignition, navigation works, etc., but it doesn't have any illumination, the MFL (multifunction leather steering wheel) doesn't work, and neither does the FIS (driver information system). Is there a way to code both units so they work together, or is that impossible? Thank you.

Your Golf uses CAN TP 2.0, while the RNS-E uses TP 1.6. There are various emulators/converters that you can use to bridge the gap. I'm familiar with this issue from our T5 bus, where a VW RNS510 (TP 2.0) was installed. This allows the lighting and other functions to work, but the FIS display is only partially supported (no navigation arrows). Apparently, the MFL (Multi-Function Leather steering wheel) should now work with this setup.
