Hello everyone,

ich habe eine Verstaendnisfrage bzgl. Remote Requests.

I'm currently trying to understand how the question/answer exchange works between two CAN participants. Based on the log I recorded, it appears that one device sends a message with the following data: 6D0 1 A3 (address length value), and another device responds with: 6D1 8 11 22 33 44 55 66 77 88. This exchange happens multiple times with different values being used as the question and answer.

I tried to replicate this conversation using the CAN hacker, but it's not easy. If I run a recording, the responses will never be sent at the right time. And if I try to do it manually, step by step, it takes me far too long to press the button.

My question is whether I can misuse this remote request for that purpose, or if there's another way, perhaps using the CAN hacker, to run simple scripts where certain messages are only sent after receiving a specific other message.

If that's not possible, I would probably have to first learn how to program an application that listens to the COM port for incoming messages and sends a different message as a response when a specific message arrives. In that case, the next question is whether anyone might have a small C# or VB program that I could use as practice to listen for CAN messages with the CANUSB adapter. Since I'm not a programmer, it would take me a very long time to create something in that direction.

Thank you and best regards,
Dirk.

Hello.

http://www.canhack.de/en/viewtopic.php?t=137
Here's a translation of the German text:

'Hopefully, an example will help you.'

If you only need a couple of test commands, I can quickly put something together for you.

Have you made any progress with the FIS yet?

Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

'Cu' is a Spanish abbreviation for 'cuerpo,' which means 'body.' It can also be used as a slang term for 'butt.'

Naruto.

P.S. You have my email address, right?

Thanks for the link; I had completely forgotten about that page.

I haven't made any further progress with the FIS. And since the telephone interface was installed, it's quite difficult to determine which ID it uses, making it hard to figure out how the IDs 265 and 267 can be used for the FIS.

I'm still trying to figure out a way to get this damn RNS-E to display an AV image while driving.
