Good day.
I'm having an issue with a 2015 Audi TTS that occasionally displays several error messages when starting the engine. These errors disappear after about 2 minutes. The original Audi diagnostic software indicates a problem with the electromechanical steering system.
"Error reappeared, also present in the ABS control unit. Each time, the error code "Steering angle sensor - no signal" is stored in the ABS fault memory, indicating a problem on the CAN bus. The wiring at the steering gear and the ABS control unit has been checked and is okay. The steering angle sensor is integrated into the steering gear."
I would like to record the signal during driving or startup. I'm asking you: Is it possible to do this via the OBD connector using the RKS*CAN interface, or do I need to tap into the data bus SG and extract the signal from the CAN chassis there?
"No problem at all. Furthermore, is it possible to graphically display the signals from the LWS (likely referring to a load weight sensor), motor speed, and voltages? If so, what are the corresponding IDs?"
Thank you in advance for your responses.

Hello,

The steering angle sensor data is located on the CAN bus. You could configure the CAN filters to display only the relevant CAN messages, which would allow you to see if they are being received or not.

.
Voltage drop during startup, could the car battery be defective?

Best regards, Rainer.

Thanks for your answers and suggestions. The battery is already new because its energy throughput was exceeded, but unfortunately, that didn't help. How should I set the filters? Is it possible to see individual control unit messages? Could I make the G85 on the CAN drive visible, if so, how? Thanks and best regards.

Hi,

Connect the potentially faulty control unit to the CAN bus: CAN IDs appear. Disconnect it: The CAN IDs disappear.
That way, you'll know which messages each control unit is sending.
You can directly see when something new appears in the "Message Changes" view.

Best regards, Rainer.
