Hello,
I am looking for a simple way to be able to electrically adjust (fully electric) seats from a BMW 1 Series outside of the vehicle. It sounds very absurd, but I have two seats from a well-equipped 1 Series that was totaled, and I want to attach them to a base in my home office using the mounting rails

.
'Simple' electric seats directly control the motors via a panel on the seat itself. However, in this case, it seems that the information from the button controls is first sent via CAN bus to a control unit, which then generates the motor signals (likely due to features like seat memory or similar).
Has anyone in this forum had any experience with this? I could also imagine using an ARDUINO or a Raspberry Pi as a 'replacement control unit'

.
Greetings to everyone.
C.
