Hello everyone,
I have a very specific question. I recently bought a speedometer on **** at a low price, but unfortunately, like many others, I'm now facing the problem that there's no login code.
Okay, there are various programs or adapters available that can read the login code from a speedometer, or that can modify data from the immobilizer or change the mileage. Now, I'm facing a second problem: the new speedometer displays 123,889, while the vehicle's actual mileage is 92,948 kilometers.
I already have quite a bit of CAN equipment here, so I can also program things myself using an Arduino, Beaglebone, or BananaPI.
I'm just missing information on how these devices read the login codes or how they cause the instrument cluster to write the mileage.
Is the Flash/EEPROM being read and rewritten, or are direct CAN commands used for these operations?
By the way, it's a Touran model year 2011.
It would be great if someone could give me some information about how something like that even happens

.
Best regards,
Daniel.
